The Southwind Story
What a long, strange trip its been...

THE FACTS:

Southwind is a hard-driving classic rock-n-roll cover band paying tribute to the greatest artists of the last half century.

Southwind began to take form in 1998 at local open mic sessions with
Rob, Phil and Lt. Col. Reid Anderson USAF, and quickly became one of Manhattan's hottest bands around the turn of the millinium.  Rob had been working for years behind his classic Gibson Hummingbird and Phil was perfecting his skills on his keyboard as well as the electric guitar.  Rob's son, Adam, took over soon as the drummer and gave the band a solid foundation with an injection of youthful enthusiasm.  Dustin joined Southwind on the bass in the summer of '03 and has brought even more energy and musical capabilities to the band.  The show was mostly based around an acoustic sound and featured incredible harmonies from all three vocalists.  As some band members, as well as great friends, have come and gone, Southwind has perfected a sound that can go from soft and sweet to a bar room free-for-all as quickly as the weather changes around here.

Southwind celebrates the music of many great artists and influences such as The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Toby Keith, The Rolling Stones, Led Zepplin, The Eagles, Tom Petty, Prince, Sublime, The Dave Matthews Band, and Garth Brooks just to name a few.  What sets Southwind apart is the diversity of the music and their own versions of so many classic songs.  The show is always kept fresh and  you'll seldom hear a song played the same way twice.  All members of the band take an active role in the entertainment of their audience, the music is only a part of the much larger Southwind experience.
